OLYMPIC & POWERLIFTING SITES

I haven't bumped into a lot of powerlifting or Olympic lifting sites, but the ones here are top of the line. Highly recommended.

Dr. Squat Fred Hatfield - Fred Hatfield has long been known as not only one of the World's strongest men (squatting 1,014 pounds at a 255 pound bodyweight), but also a great educator. Fred's written 60+ books and countless articles, many of which you'll find reprinted in the articles section of this site. Particularly interesting - notice the exercise diagrams and the sports training programs. You'll also find Fred's infamous ZigZag diet page and a very active bulletin board. (I need to tell you, this page belongs on my Top Picks page, but what would you think if you didn't find Fred Hatfield under the Powerlifting Links button?)

Deepsquatter Strength Online - If you're an Olympic or powerlifter, I doubt if you've missed this one. Just in case, here's your link to the best of the strength trainers' online resources. Don't waste any more time; just go.

American Strength Legends - Aw, you're gonna like this one. Labor of love, this. It's a tribute site to the strong men amoung us, the lifters, throwers, boulder tamers. Including their record breaking lifts, interviews, photos and more - the site will leave you with a sweet feeling for the evening, preparation for a ferocious workout tomorrow.

The Texas Powerlifting Scene - Look for quite a lot more than Texas material in this new site crammed full of strength training articles and powerlifting contest data. Texas powerman Tom McCullough has a hand in all aspects of powerlifting from competition to coaching, writing to internet moderating. Lots here, visit often.

Powerlifting.com - Training routines, event calendar, technical rules, records & results, TONS of information - say, how come powerlifting sites have so much more to offer than the majority of bodybuilding sites, huh? What gives?

USPF Powerlifting California - Steve Denison's site for California competitive powerlifting, home of the California Powerlifting Hall of Fame. We attended the inaugural event; what a treasured memory!

The Weightlifting Encyclopedia - While author Artie Dreschler has compiled this site directed specifically toward Olympic weight lifters, it's crammed with information for all members of the iron game. Go here when you have some time - it's content dense!

Lost Battalion Hall Weightlifting - The only place to learn and train Olympic lifting in NYC and the Greater Metropolitan Area. Coached by USAW certified coach Joe Triolo. Great photos, some very unusual ones, plus superb technical articles.

Critical Bench - Ahhh... now we're talking power! I love this site and you will too if you love the groove of a good strong bench. Let the powerful folks at Critical Bench guide you from grip positioning and benching form straight through to an actual benching plan to increase your bench press max with confidence.

Crain's Muscle World - Rickey Dale Crain is a 5 time World Champion powerlifter who's been supplying powerlifting and weightlifting products to serious lifters for over 20 years - longer than most of you have been training, longer than some of you have been living. Dave and I have been purchasing his products for the past fifteen years, and our powerlifting pals (from the now extinct PowerUnlimited Club and the Dynamo Barbell Club - hi, kids!) for all of his 20 years. You can trust him, and you'll like him too.
