THE EXERCISE GAP GROWS
Winter
such as we will ever know it is here. Excluding skiers and igloo
makers, this means short days, less outdoor exposure and activity,
more clothes, couch time, TV, turkey, parties, Superbowls, flus,
colds, aches and pains. Discipline goes in the closet with the bikini
and the exercise gap grows. Evidence of the above is found in the
form of a distinct bulge around your middle - maybe.
We're
at the crossroads partner; go left and it's Fat City, go right and
it's Trim Town, USA. You can't miss your destination if you chose
to go left - it's downhill and not very far. However, if you're
headed for Trim Town during the winter months, let me be your guide.
It takes energy, a fistful of discipline, a lot of heart and 60
powerful minutes three or four times a week.
Please,
allow me one more tiny metaphor. I've traveled this road 30-some
winters in a row. I know every inch, every ditch, every hairpin
curve. (And if you're in Santa Cruz, I have at World Gym the best
informed, most encouraging staff this side of the moon.) Let me
walk you and talk you over the dangerous exercise gap and teach
you how and why to eat just right.
Don't
say "Ugh. Exercise" or "Ugh. Diet." You'll miss
out on a lot in life. This body stuff is all in the mind, your imagination,
your greatest resource. Think "Ugh!" and in the spring
you'll look and feel Ugh!
Why
do we hesitate? Take the right road and add challenge, vitality
and cheer to your life. Seriously plan your own unique Winter Revival/Survival
Course. It works.
