IRONONLINE MOTIVATIONAL MOMENTS

KUDOS ALL

You know, when I read the messages and learn a little bit more about each of you, I'm more impressed each passing day. When you consider all the things you live with, all the obstacles to get over before getting to the gym or eating well each day, it's a pretty amazing bunch of stories.

I think of Gary C, the Bills2, Doc Mike and others who get paid the big bucks, where each workout literally costs them a couple hundred dollars or more - yet unlike the vast majority of their peers, they've chosen to put their first priorities toward fitness strength rather than financial strength.

I think of Roy and Les turning down the goodies at the cop shop, Shawn in the midst of a major job change, Bruce who travels a lot and manages to find his way to a gym each stop, Sandy2 and Rusty and Jan who get up at 4am to grab a workout before work, the college students who are putting themselves through school with part time or even full time work on top of class schedules, study time and a workout slipped in mid-afternoon - who can easier afford a 50 cent box of macaroni and cheese....but no, won't go that route.

I think of Guy with FIVE KIDS, and Thom the Celt with SIX, and wonder if I'd even consider trying to work out under those conditions. How 'bout Tony and Ivan and others who's families aren't particularly supportive and would rather they participated in a nightly junk food fest? Or Vince - a chef for goodness sake? Clayton and Mark at work day and night, slipping in a quick gobble of tuna and a dash for the gym? And the Titan, who works out wherever he is in the world. And Barry, hurting, but still California dreamin'.

I think of Jim L striving to make gains that others only dream of, while taking buckets full of drugs to fight an HIV infection. Or the others - you know who you are - for whom the physical act of getting to the gym is painful or otherwise more difficult than the rest of us can guess. Or Gary, Dwight, VF and others, who we're discovering need oxygen to sleep at night. Pal Og, in the hospital right now even. Sue and Susan and Suzi, sharing your terrific information after long workdays. Teachers Armando and Rob and surely others - school all day, papers all night - a quick workout and your friendly email visit.

Lauri & Sparky with food allergies that keep them on their toes, new guy Frank and Bill2's wife and Doc and surely others with blood sugar problems. Christina, boyfriend out of state while her favorite Pure Pro Bar bites the dust. Gerry and David and others who've spent so much time and dedication toward shedding so much excess weight, Wayne, Jim, John and Teri who quit smoking a couple of months ago, and Steve E, who's surely planning to quit next month.

The young teens, pro-wrestler-to-be Chris, Paul, Onuan, Tom, Chabot, new at all this and confused with the vast information. Wanting to get big fast and no matter how hard they work, it's not happening fast. The trainers who're forever kicking in with help and ideas, Hugo and Steve and Tim and Neil and Mathias, Mark and Mark and Mike - supplement expert Jeff - who've probably been answering these questions all day, but still come back for more.

Doc Ray, Bev, SHUTUP, and Chan struggling with their typing, because it's worth it to them to participate with us. Ingrid and Henrik and Don and others who keep up with us via the web because IronOnline is important to them and their email doesn't work with our system. I don't worry about Moke much, or Doug, or Dave or Doug2, Ragtop, Rick, Claudius or even the Texas Shredder, who seem to have energy and good spirits to burn, but you never know what struggles lurk at the back end of that keyboard. I'll bet there are a whole bunch of you I missed - likely my very best of friends - and a whole bunch of you I don't know yet, but I'll tell you right now, with how busy our world is in 1999, my hat's off to all of you who keep these workouts and this nutrition caretaking moving in a positive direction.

And, lest I forget, dd, late into the night composing prose to motivate or entertain us.

Kudos all..... Laree
